The Lutron RA2 Select plugin enables Rithum Switch to be integrated with your RA2. It allows configured scenes to be triggered from Rithum and the lights of areas/circuits controlled via the Levels screen.
Note: You must have scenes configured within your RA2 system. Rithum does not import buttons but scenes. If you receive an error when loading the config or don't see the scenes you want, please check that you have them defined as scenes.
Follow the instructions for adding a plugin to install the Lutron RA2 Select plugin.
Note: Integration Telnet access must be enabled in your RA2 system.
Configuring the integration
When successfully installed, in the settings menu on Rithum Switch select Integrations > Add Integration > Lutron RA2 Select followed by Enter IP Address...
Enter the RA2 IP address. Rithum Switch will then attempt to connect to the RA2. When successfully connected the switch will display the following screen:
As instructed, visit the configuration web page at the URL displayed on the screen. The URL is of the form http://<Rithum IP address>/lutronconfig . The device used for this must be on the same local network as the Rithum Switch.
Note that you will see a warning that this is an insecure connection. However, the connection is purely within your local private network, between the browser device and Rithum Switch. No data is transferred out to the internet.
Loading config data
You then need the config data from the Ra2. To get this, In the Lutron phone app, press the top-left settings button, then Advanced > Integration > Send Integration Report. You will then need to copy the text from the body of the email that it creates and then paste that text into the text box on the web page as shown in the screenshot below:
A note on blinds/non-light devices: Devices with the same area name will automatically be included in a single area to be controlled via the levels screen. This means that using the slider or on/off toggle for the area will affect all of those devices. This might have the undesirable result of affecting blinds (or other non-light devices) in addition to the lights. In order to prevent this, you may need to amend your configuration data prior to importing to exclude blinds devices from areas containing lights. To do this, change the area name of the blinds device to be something different. For example, change
{
“ID” : 7,
“Name” : “Blind 1”,
“Area” : {
“Name” : “Guest Bedroom”
}
}
{
“ID” : 7,
“Name” : “Blind 1”,
“Area” : {
“Name” : “Guest Bedroom Blinds”
}
}
Click on “Send Config”. If it is successful then you should see a popup message on the web page indicating so, and there should also be a message shown on the switch saying that it has successfully connected.
After successfully connecting, press Go There to continue configuration in the Screens > Scenes Screen menu. Press on each scene that you want to be present as buttons on the Scenes Screen. Selected scenes are shown with a white tick. Press the gold tick in the top right corner to save the selection. You can also add areas to include in the Levels screen by selecting areas in the Screens > Levels Screen menu.
Standby Gestures
It is also possible to select a scene to be executed when the screen is held whilst in standby mode.
In settings go to the Gestures settings menu. Select Hold On/Toggle followed by the IP address of your connected RA2. Select the scene to be executed from the list displayed.
It is also possible to create an on/off toggle to alternate between activating 2 scenes on each hold gesture. To do this, select Hold Off (optional) and select your 'off' scene.
