Rithum has 8 main Scene buttons, but being able to collate sub-scenes in a group provides users with much wider control options. For example, a user could group 3 or 4 – or more – kitchen Scenes to one of the main 8 buttons.
Group scenes have four modes to select from:
- Macro (default): Triggers all of the Scenes in the group and can be useful to turn all lighting and audio off / on with the press of one button
- List (Autoclose): Once pressed, this will display a pop-up list showing all Scenes within the group, which can be controlled independently. This version of List mode auto-closes the modal when a scene is triggered
- List: The same as above but the modal will not automatically close when a scene is triggered.
- Step: Pressing the Group Scene button will cycle through the grouped Scenes and display them one after the other
To create a Group Scene, instead of Screens > Scenes Screen > Add single scenes, use Add group scene. At this point you can add sub-scenes to the group from one or more integrations and change the Mode. A delay option is also provided for macros that might require a delay between commands.
Sub scenes can be customised like normal scenes, editing the label(s) and assigning an icon.
By returning back from the group editor, to Screens > Scenes Screen, the user can customise the master scene, including editing it and assigning an icon. To edit the sub-scenes in the group, tap the master scene and use Edit Group.
Master Scene Labels and Icons
In general, the master scene will use labels and icon from the first sub-scene in the list. In the case of a Step scene, the sub-scene that will be triggered on next press is shown, therefore for Step scenes, it is more likely you would not want to customise the master scene labels and icon.
For macros and lists, it is likely you would want to customise the master scene to something applicable, though if using a toggle scene in a macro it will pull through the current state of the first sub-scene which can be useful.
