Requirements
- Rithum Switch Pro
- Firmware 5.2+
- Ethernet connection
Note that whilst Rithum Switch Pro has Wi-Fi, Audio Intercom and Video Streaming features are not officially supported over Wi-Fi. That said, they may well work suitably.
Overview
SIP Calls let you place an intercom call to another Rithum switch — or any compatible SIP endpoint — by pressing a scene button. You can:
- Call a destination: ring a single configured destination, such as another switch in the home, for two-way audio.
- Call multiple destinations: using a Macro scene, call multiple other switches
- Call All: ring every configured destination at once. The first to answer is connected and the rest stop ringing.
Configuration
SIP Calls is added as an integration which can be carried out on the switch itself or online via the Dealer Portal. In switch settings go to:
Integrations > Add Integration > SIP Calls > Add SIP Calls...
Visit the web page address shown or scan the QR code. This will provide the following configuration page:
"Caller Name" is a friendly name shown to the person you call (for example, "Front Hallway"). If the party you call doesn't otherwise receive a contact name, this is the name they will see.
Under "Call Destinations", add each device you want to be able to call. For every destination, enter:
- "Display Label" — a friendly name shown on the call button in the switch UI (for example, "Kitchen" or "Front Door").
- "SIP Destination" — the address to call. To call another Rithum Switch the format is sip:<IP_ADDRESS>, for example "sip:192.168.0.10". the :port part can be ommitted as the switch uses the default port 5060 for SIP. If you use a SIP server, enter the extension instead.
Press "Save Configuration". The switch should then show that the configuration has been sent.
You can use the same SIP Calls configuration on every switch in the home — a switch automatically hides its own address from its list of destinations, so it never attempts to call itself.
Adding call buttons to a Scenes screen
Once destinations are configured, each one is available as a scene, along with a "Call All" scene that rings every destination at the same time. To add call buttons, in switch settings go to Screens > Scenes Screen and add the SIP Call scenes you want — each destination by name, and/or Call All.
Each button shows the destination's label with "Call" beneath it.
Making a call
Press the call button for the destination you want. The screen shows the destination's name while it rings. When the other party answers, you are connected for two-way audio. Press the red hang-up button to end the call.
Calling everyone at once
Press "Call All" to ring every configured destination together. While several are ringing, the screen shows "Calling…"; the first destination to answer is connected and shows that destination's name, and the others stop ringing automatically. Ending the call cancels any that are still ringing.
To ring only some destinations together rather than all of them, a macro groups scene can be configured that triggers just those calls.
During a call
While connected you can mute your microphone and hang up. The door-unlock control is disabled for SIP Calls — unlock is only available for door-station calls.
