In order to make a call from a Doorbird intercom to a Rithum Switch Pro, Doorbird needs to be configured to make a P2P SIP call.
To do this, follow the steps below. The exact steps may differ slightly depending on updates to the Doorbird app, but the principles are the same.
1. Activate SIP
Choose “SIP Settings” from the menu and activate the “SIP active” switch.
2. Leave SIP Settings Blank
Since the connection between the DoorBird IP Video Door Station and the Rithum Switch Pro will be peer-to-peer (P2P), no further settings are required on this screen, and the following fields should be left blank.
3. Add P2P SIP Call
Go back to the main administration area and tap on “SIP Calls”, then tap “Add”. In the subsequent screen, enter an arbitrary name in the “Name” field, e.g. “Rithum”. For the SIP address, enter the IP address of your Rithum Switch Pro, you may need to prefix this with any SIP user ID and @ so both of the following are valid, where the "108" could be any number:
- 192.168.123.22
- 108@192.123.22
4. Setup a Doorbird call schedule
For calls from the DoorBird IP Video Door Station to be forwarded to the Rithum Switch Pro, a schedule for the doorbell needs to be properly set up. Depending on the model of the DoorBird IP Video Door Station, choose one of the following options:
A) For all devices with a single call button (e.g. D1101V, D2101V, D2101KV, etc.), find the corresponding settings in the DoorBird App administration menu EXPERT SETTINGS when selecting "Schedule for doorbell".
In this screen, tap the bell symbol in the upper-left corner, select “SIP call” and fill out the schedule as per your requirements for this event.
B) For all devices with multiple call buttons (e.g., D2102V, D2103V, D1102KV, etc.), find the corresponding settings in the DoorBird App administration menu BUTTON CONFIGURATION when selecting "Settings."
Select the call button to which the event needs to be assigned and go to “Schedule for actions.”
On this screen, tap the bell symbol in the upper-left corner, select “SIP call,” and fill out the schedule per your requirements for this event.
C) For all devices with a digital display (e.g. D21DKV or D31TDV), find the corresponding settings in the DoorBird App administration menu KEYPAD when selecting "Settings".
Select the keypad combination the event needs to get assigned and go to “Schedule for actions”.
In this screen, tap the bell symbol in the upper-left corner, select “SIP call” and fill out the schedule per your requirements for this event.
Hint: by tapping the button in the upper right corner it is possible to fill or empty the entire schedule.
5. Save Settings
Return to the main administration area and save the settings. Wait for about five minutes for the new settings to take place.
You should now be able to make a call from your DoorBird IP Video Door Station to your Rithum Switch Pro.
5. Optional DTMF
If you want to make use of the DTMF-functionality of the DoorBird IP Video Door Station in order to control the built-in light or door relay of the DoorBird IP Video Door Station using your Rithum Switch Pro, do the following:
- In the main administration area, choose “SIP Settings”.
- Toggle the “DTMF” switch on, and set the “Light PIN” and “Relay 1 PIN” to arbitrary PIN numbers of your preference.
Note: The transmission of DTMF signals only happens during an active call between the DoorBird IP Video Door Station and the Rithum Switch Pro.
On the Rithum side, you need to set enter the DTMF code you used, and set the DTMF mode.
Make sure to terminate these PIN numbers with a “#” symbol when entering them on Rithum Switch Pro.
Return to the main administration area and save the settings. Wait for about five minutes for the new settings to take place.
Using the example above, we would enter 456# in the Unlock DTMF Code field.
6. Optional DTMF Control of A1081 or A1101 Peripheral Devices
There is currently a workaround for Doorstations of the D21x series with which you can control a relay of the A1081 or A1101 peripheral devices via SIP/DTMF.
The prerequisite for this is that you have not connected anything to the relay contact of the DoorBird IP video door station that you are using for this trick. In addition, the SIP setup should already be correctly configured to the extent that you can already establish an audio connection between the door station and the SIP telephone.
If the relay contacts of the DoorBird IP video door station are already in use, please be patient until an update is available: https://www.doorbird.com/de/newsletter
If you have an unused relay contact on the DoorBird IP video door station, please proceed as follows:
- DoorBird App → Settings → Administration (under "Additional functions") → Login → Relay (under Expert settings) → [free] relay → Schedule for follow-up action.
- Please check whether an icon with a relay is shown in the schedule at the top left.
- Now select the desired relay contact you want to trigger from the peripheral device A1081 or A1101 in the middle drop-down menu and fill the schedule completely blue.
- Go back one step and save your settings.
You have now configured that when the (free) relay triggers, the desired relay from the peripheral A1081 or A1101 triggers in parallel. This happens both when you trigger the relay from the DoorBird App and via SIP/DTMF.
7. Video Streaming
It is also possible to add a video stream to the SIP call and access Doorbird video streams from scene buttons. To do that you require the Video Streaming Plugin and can read the guide here: Video Streaming User Guide
