Lightwave Plugin

Requirements

  • A Lightwave Smart Series system with a Link Plus hub, set up using the Lightwave app and an active Lightwave account
  • The Lightwave plugin installed on Rithum Switch / Rithum Switch Pro
  • Rithum minimum firmware version 5.1
  • An active internet connection on Rithum Switch (the integration is cloud-based)

Current Capabilities

Integration

Each Rithum Switch integrates with one or more Lightwave accounts via the Lightwave cloud as an authenticated user (whether a unique account per switch or the same account across multiple switches).

Configuration is then primarily from the Rithum side or online via the Dealer Portal; as with other integrations you can follow the Setup & Use guide. You will be prompted to sign in with your Lightwave account email address and password (the same credentials you use in the Lightwave app) to complete the connection.

Scenes Screen buttons (or sub scenes of group buttons)

Select from the following actions for rooms and devices configured in Lightwave:

  • Turn a room on, off or toggle (all switchable devices in the room)
  • Turn an individual device on, off or toggle
  • Control blinds: Open, Stop or Close (for blind devices such as the LP82)

Levels Screen

Select rooms to include on the Levels screen where you can then control on/off & brightness at the room level or for individual circuits (dimmers, sockets and relays).

Climate Screen

Lightwave heating devices — thermostats and radiator valves (TRVs) — configured in Lightwave will be available for selection on the Rithum Climate screen zones list.

From the Climate screen you can set the target temperature and see the current room temperature and whether the zone is currently calling for heat.

The power button turns the zone off by setting it to frost protection; turning power back on restores the previous target temperature.

Limitations

  • The integration is cloud-based and requires an active internet connection — if the internet connection or the Lightwave cloud is unavailable, Lightwave devices cannot be controlled from Rithum Switch (there is no direct local connection to the hub)
  • Only the Lightwave Smart Series (Link Plus) is supported; the earlier Connect Series (Generation 1) is not supported
  • Levels screen control of colour-changing LED loads (e.g. via a Lightwave Smart LED Driver) is on/off & brightness only, the colour can’t be adjusted
  • Changes made to your Lightwave configuration (for example adding or renaming devices in the Lightwave app) may take up to 1 minute to be reflected on Rithum Switch
  • There's a long time delay in Lightwave (or the thermostat) between adjusting the temperature set-point and heat demand being activated/deactivated - approx. 3 minutes, which is reflected in a delay to the heat demand flame icon being updated
